Light It Up

Light It Up is Ghetto Breakfast Club. I wish I was kidding when I said that cuz it is. This movie takes the bold step by making teenagers the one making the demands dammit! We talk about Usher, AOC, Juice references, Dee being banned by Fredro Star on twitter, MTV and Forest Whitaker as a Hokage.

The Color Purple

The Color Purple is a can of worms. It contains issues the black community deal with to this day. Pedophile, the treatment of black women, the social structure of the black community then and now...It's a whole lot of shit. Yet somehow this is one of our most funniest and most earnest show we have ever had. We got 2 good reasons why this movie is still good for black people! We are joined by three ladies in this to get their side of this movie. Some of the most fun we had.

Waiting to Exhale

It’s a new year, a new us, and it’s time to finally Exhale. We finally talk about this Negro classic. And who else is more qualified to talk about this movie made women than 3 black men? We talk about the 90’s, the great acting, coke, black men of the 90’s, Whitney being dubbed, BBW’s winning, and we connect the universes Waiting to Exhale-Breaking Bad-Scarface. Listen. Don’t be a raggedy bitch!

Perfect Blue

We visit a mind fuck of an anime, Satoshi Kon's classic Perfect Blue. We talk about Pop Stars, the Disney image, Japanese life and other stuff. We're savage as usual but you expect that.

Tyler Perry's Temptation

Tyler Perry is an alright guy. Here we have a person who proved a point to the Hollywood system that there is an audience for movies like his and shockingly Hollywood listened. Now the quality of his films vary from moderately entertaining to just plain bad. Temptation is one of those movies that is bad from every angle possible. The story is crazy heavy handed and you can't sympathize with none of the characters. All that mixed together and you have a horrible movie that is a train wreck from beginning to end.

The Animatrix

Coming off the heels of The Matrix, The Animatrix was born out of the series starting to expand out into a full fledged franchise. With that came a need to explain the nuances of the world of the Matrix and how everything came to be. The Animatrix succeeds in giving an account of how the machines managed to take over the humans while also giving story accounts of how the Matrix effected other characters. Lots of solid animation from various studios and yet another solid soundtrack, the Animatrix is definitely worth a watch.

The Matrix

So here we have a movie that definitely got people's attention when it first was announced. The Super Bowl spot in particular got people curious with how trippy this flick was gonna be. The Matrix is a movie that pretty much plays like a video game at times with the characters doing crazy feats. Its also a movie that had some deep and interesting philosophical ideas that unfortunately the sequels botched it up. Overall still a solid movie to watch.

High School of the Dead

Fan service is something that for the most part is a staple of the anime genre. Sometimes shows go overboard with it and other times you get a small portion of it. In comes High School of the Dead which really hits you over the head with its fan service and yet it has some characters that you care about and a decent plot revolving around the zombie apocalypse and the chaos it causes.
